About Us

In 1998, Hitesh and Pooja started WOMEN, which manufactures and wholesales block printed fabrics and Kurtis in Mumbai. At the time when books were not affordable and Google was not much accessible, they would go to libraries and study about the art of block printing and its techniques. They visited villages in different states of INDIA and connected with the finest block print artisans.

Both Hitesh and Pooja have no formal degree in fashion. Hitesh (BCom) and Pooja (BSc) started this business with their entire passion and love for prints.

In 2021, they went from handling the wholesale business from home to also opening their first retail outlet along with their daughters in Borivali, Mumbai.

This homegrown family business provides you with authentic block prints and weaves from different states of India, hence the name – COTTON STATES.

Our aim is to bring the rich handicrafts of India with the best quality, to your houses.
